Canned Bacon Is Just So Wrong, I'm Totally Freaking Out Right Now
I have just crawled out from a shivering fetal position to write this post and tell you about this canned bacon.
"Each can is 9 ounces of fully cooked and drained bacon. Between 2-3/4 and 3-1/4 pounds of raw bacon go into each can... We cook this bacon down for you prior to canning, so you won’t pay for all of the natural shrinkage that occurs whenever you cook bacon. Then we carefully drain all of the fat and liquid off and can it fresh so it will taste as good out of the can as it would right out of the refrigerator."
Interesting. Also, I just threw up in my mouth.
There is no way this could be good. I just refuse to believe that it's possible. But if you want to do a taste test you can buy a case (12 cans for $109.95) at MREdepot.com.
I think canned bacon is quite possibly the mostest wrongest most terrible horrible frightening disturbing thing I have ever seen in my whole life. And that's saying a lot since I was actually a child soldier for FARC up until about 6 months ago. OK so that's not technically true, but still, this is incredibly disturbing. *shudder*

There's got to be a scenario where canned bacon would be okay...
Post apocalypse perhaps?
I have a hard time with canned green beans, let alone canned bacon.
Thanks for the laugh.

ew. This is just wrong. Canned bacon could never taste as good as freshly, cooked bacon & I sure as hell wouldn't pay $110 dollars for bacon in a can!
wrong, wrong, wrong.

Well, to be fair, $110 gets you a WHOLE CASE - 12 cans.

Even so. It's way too expensive for such wrongness.

Growing up, there was uncooked bacon in a can from Canada, and it was the BEST bacon I've ever had. Wish I could find it again.
Cooked in a can,? Probably not so good....
