Thursday Restaurant Review Haikus: Odes To Foods I Love To Eat

today in Thursday Restaurant Review Haikus:

ODES TO FOODS I LOVE TO EAT

I was eating food just the other day and thought, wow, I think I really love food more than most people. I should write a poem about that. So, for the first time I'm going to write what are not technically restaurant reviews this week as I wax poetic about foods I love to eat... so even though they're light on the "restaurant"  and "review" thing, they'll still full of haiku-y goodness.

************************
STEAK
I like you rare/raw
with butter, all cuts are good
you're my truest love

************************
BACON
the finest of fats
you make ev'rything better
i'll never leave you

************************
BUTTER
without you I'd die
you have never let me down
you give life meaning

************************
SALT
blood pressure be damned
without you life is empty
also, flavorless

************************
TOAST
simple yet refined
you're the best thing since sliced bread
only more toasty

************************
RANCH DRESSING
Oh, Hidden Valley
pizza would suck without you
a true enhancer

************************
RICE
don't stand in shadows
you deserve a bright spotlight
for all that you do

************************
FRENCH FRIES
thin, thick, I don't care,
just don't give me those wedges.
you brighten my days

************************
MAYO
so many hate you.
you can be overwhelming!
but i love you so

************************
SOY SAUCE
you are magical
as a child, I drank you straight
but that's kinda gross

************************
STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE
a wondrous combo
biscuit, berries, and whipped cream
you are beautiful

************************
POTATOES
mashed, baked, I don't care
let me exalt your glory
you're a blank canvas

************************
CARNITAS
crispy, salty, soft,
you are the best kind of pork
I want you always

************************
PUDDING
our love took some time,
but I've come to realize:
you're a superstar

************************
WINE
words cannot express
the joy you bring to my life
you are amazing

************************

Here's why
I do them in haikus.
