Where I Tell People To Eat When They're Visiting San Francisco

San Francisco from space!
I TOTALLY skipped the haiku reviews last week. Busy week I guess- my bad. I will try to make this week's extra good to make up for it.
I have friends visiting from New York, which made me think about some of the random places I often recommend to out-of-towners for price-conscious, non-touristy SF food choices, and inspired this week's theme!
************************
Cha Cha Cha
1801 Haight St. - website
(there is a 2nd location, but the Haight one is preferable.)
cheap Caribbean,
cool vibe, with funky altars.
food, sangria ROCK.
************************
Tartine Bakery
600 Guerrero St. - website
best pastries around!
sublime quiche, great morning buns
long lines on weekends
************************
OSHA Thai
149 2nd St. - website
(more locations on the website; this one is the nicest.)
If you're at MOMA,
lunch at this stylish, cheap Thai
is a no-brainer.

Beard Papa
99 Yerba Buena Lane (Mission St. between 3rd and 4th Sts.) - website
Westfield Center @ Powell Station, concourse level
The Tokyo treat!
just cream puffs filled to order
light, sweet, delicious
************************
La Taqueria
2889 Mission St. - website
San Franciscans have
strong burrito loyalties.
THIS ONE IS THE BEST.
************************
Medjool
2522 Mission St. - website
Some nice afternoon,
head to the rooftop for drinks.
The view trumps the food.
************************
Mitchell's Ice Cream
688 San Jose Ave. - website
Homemade ice cream, since
the 50s. good flavors, plus
some funky fruit ones.

Here's why I do them in haikus.
