Easy Pigs In Easy Blankets

I made this for a party, and then again for breakfast the other day. They are super easy and I have yet to meet a person (minus vegetarians, of course) who doesn't like them. I like them plain, but some people appreciate having mustard and/or ketchup available for dipping purposes. They are a surprisingly delicious, feel-good food, and they are addictive.

Ingredients:
  • 1 can of croissant dough from the refrigerated section
  • a bunch of lil' smokies or other teeny weenies

Method:
  • Preheat oven as directed on the can and prepare a baking sheet with spray, or a piece of parchment.
  • Open the can of croissant dough and separate into pieces. Using kitchen shears, cut each dough triangle into four pieces of roughly equivalent size.
  • Wrap each mini-weenie in a piece of croissant dough, connecting the seam, and place seam-side down on the pan.
  • Bake until golden. Serve warm.
  • To make ahead, pre-wrap the dogs and put the pan in the freezer until the dough/dogs are frozen. Then transfer the individually frozen dogs into a ziploc. When you need them, just place on a baking sheet and bake as directed, adding a few extra minutes to the cooking time.
