We went to Bar Bambino with some friends about a month ago. It is really a cute place and should have all the things I want in a restaurant, but somehow it's missing the mark.



We had to wait like 2 hours for a table on a Wednesday night, and then it wasn't that great. They are into simplicity so a lot of the meals just come in a bowl with no sides. So Ross ate a really greasy bowl of slow-cooked meat with nothing on the side- and it was even too greasy for ME so you know it was too greasy. It needed something. Anything! Man cannot live on greasy meat bowls alone.

Also, it's not that cheap. And it's in a sketchy part of the Mission- on 16th near South Van Ness. And everything on their menu is slow-cooked, which is kind of weird, especially in the summer.

So I'm giving it a "meh" rating. It's nice to go and sit in the back patio on a nice day, I'll give it that. But they've got some issues to work out before I'll call it a neighborhood favorite!
